Mettler-Toledo Safeline has bought three overhead cranes from UK crane builder Granada Material Handling. The metal detector manufacturer uses cranes to move equipment during the manufacturing process. The three 1t capacity cranes are fitted with SWF electric chain hoists that move across a 10m single-girder span and along a 25m total long travel distance. Cross and long travel motors are controlled by frequency inverters. On average the cranes perform 50 lifts a day. Granada has also won a six-monthly service contract from the manufacturer.
