Some weeks ago the professional team from A. Henefeld Metal Works Ltd., the crane building partner company of SWF Krantechnik in Israel, installed a 80t gantry crane. A young photographer accompanied the specialist with his video camera. The result is a very nice movie about the transportation and the installation of this impressive crane. The gantry crane is in use by one of the largest precast concrete element manufactures in Israel. Some parts of the product portfolio of the company weights about 78 t each and must be handled somehow during the production and shipping process. Two electric wire rope hoists NOVA NF type made by SWF Krantechnik with load capacities of 40t each and true vertical lift are equipped to the gantry crane. One auxiliary hoist NOVA ND with 8t load capacity is mounted in addition. The lifting height is 17m. The crane has a span of 26m and two consoles of 7m and 4.5m.

All wire rope hoists are equipped with the condition monitoring system NovaMaster which also provide a tandem load summing. Special magnetic area limit switches controls the load limitation in the crane consoles and allows a limited total load of 20t there. The safe usage of the crane and its reliability was mainly focused by Dan Kronfeld and his colleagues from Henefeld. The specialized team provides mechanical and electrical engineering, installations and services all around Israel since 1935. Today Arik and Dan Kronfeld manage the privately owned company in third generation.
