SWF Krantechnik GmbH held its product training for independent crane constructing companies from Asia in Singapore with products by the Mannheim based hoisting specialist.

24 crane specialists from Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Taiwan, India, Hong Kong und Vietnam participated in the three day technical training unit. Usually these trainings would take place in the Mannheim training centre. All current display models are available there as well as enough space for training and workbenches and equipment for theoretical instruction can be used by the participants. But SWF had decided to organise a special “out-of-house”-training for Asian partners, so that they could minimise the participant’s journeys. Therefore the training centre had to be moved from Mannheim to Singapore – into a congress hotel and the factory workshop of SWF partner company Helmsion Engineering.

The participants had two days theoretical training in electro-techniques and mechanics. One topic was the frequency inverter control MicroMove and TravelMaster for steppless, gentle crane- and trolley drive. Another focal point was the electronic hoist monitoring system NovaMaster with its many advantages of monitoring the current situation of the crane and especially the hoist. The correct and exact adjusting and diagnosis of the digital assistants were thoroughly trained.

The electric wire rope hoists NOVA and the customised component packages crane kits were treated from the mechanical point of view. The participants could take home with them many tips and tricks about their every day work with mounting and maintaining the hoists from Mannheim. The proper supply with original SWF spare parts was explained to the interested auditors.

The theoretical input from the first two days was put to use on the third day of training. In a factory workshop of the crane construction company Helmsion Engineering, the participants mounted a complete crane kit as it would happen in a real crane project. All components delivered by SWF Krantechnik next to the electric wire rope hoist NOVA, such as end carriages, power supply, control device, crane control cabinet, trolleys, etc. are pre-assembled or easily and time-saving mountable by connexion- or bolted assembly. This also minimises the assignment of personnel. The participants could also be convinced of these economical advantages.
