SAS Component A/S technical centre in Copenhagen offers plenty of possibilities for servicing or maintenance works of passenger airplanes` parts of various types. One of the specialised service shops has a focus on wheels and tiers. In the course of moving into a partly existent and expanded building on the premises of SAS Component, a special light crane system had to be developed which ensures an efficient work process without difficulties. The Danish crane specialist SKS Kraner A/S from Viby Sjælland near Copenhagen was asked to develop and install the system. The hoisting specialist SWF Krantechnik GmbH from Mannheim supplied the necessary components.

SKS Kraner under the management of Eno Hausner Andersen is established on the Danish crane market since 1987 and offers, above the classical standard crane systems, also a vast number of special solutions for all sorts of industrial demands. Mounting and servicing is as much part of SKS’ performance as, for example, the designing of carrier boxes for overhead cranes.

For the project in Copenhagen, the Danish used the light crane system “ProfileMaster“ by SWF Krantechnik. With its choice of different profiles, curves, switches and turnstiles the system offers flexible solutions for e.g. the maximum use of available space. Big span widths are possible with single- as well as double-girder cranes. Upon each other adjusted and pre-assembled components allow for short mounting periods and low costs. The optimised suspension technique only needs very few connections to the top of the building to reach the aim.

The powerful electric chain hoists Type SK by SWF Krantechnik complete the robust light crane system “ProfileMaster“. The user can handle loads from 125 kg up to 2.000 kg. The hoists are available with either hand- or trolley- drive. The main girder of the single- and double-girder versions can also be motorised.

The SKS Kraner team installed in the special service shop:

four single girder systems with 6,5 meters span width on a 32 meters long trail, each fitted with one electric chain hoist SK with an ultimate load of 250 kg

two single girder systems with 10,5 meters span width on a 16 meters long trail, each fitted with one electric chain hoist SK with an ultimate load of 250 kg

six single girder systems with 8,4 meters span width on a 20 meters long trail, each fitted with one electric chain hoist SK with an ultimate load of 500 kg

and one single girder system with 6 meters span width on a 14 meters long trail, fitted with a vacuum grab with an ultimate load of 60 kg.

Two members of the SKS mounting team installed the whole system within three months. SKS Kraner will be handling all future maintenance works for the light crane systems.
