One of the leading producers in the business paper industry, Mondi from Austria, has ordered two overhead cranes for a paper production site in Hungary. The order has been executed by the Budapest based crane specialist ECO-Cranes and the Mannheim based hoisting specialist SWF Krantechnik GmbH.

ECO-Cranes from Fot close to Budapest has been active on the crane building market since 1995 and today ranks among the most successful crane building companies in Hungary. Managing director Karoly Szerkernyes is proud of the good co-operation with SWF as the official partner of the Mannheim based company.

The cranes’ task is to transport the finished paper rolls which weight up to 40 tons from production to storage location.

Two double girder cranes as spar box construction were built with 24 meters span width each and an ultimate load of 50 tons per crane. Two electric wire rope hoists NOVA NF on each crane with an ultimate load of 25 tons can be operated in tandem processing on each crane to transport the paper rolls.

The double girder trolleys NOVA are equipped with the electronic hoist monitoring system NovaMaster. The monitoring system makes a gentle lifting and stopping of the load possible – basically similar to the standard frequency inverters for crane- and trolley drive. Here the same advanteges are achieved for the gentle, stepless travelling of the load as well as for the wear parts of the hoist, whereas the hoisting motor brake is designed for longevity. The user can read all data concerning the hoist such as current load on hook, current number of starts, performed operating hours, remaining safe working period or the current temperature of the hoisting motors via a display on the control switch – either conventional or remote control. Additionally the electric wire rope hoists have been equipped with digital high-end load displays.

The Hoists from Mannheim were convincing because of their compact dimensions and approach distances. The space-saving, powerful and extremely robust electric wire rope hoists met the operater’s needs in every particular.
