The Mannheim based hoisting specialist SWF Krantechnik GmbH has recently added to their range of products the electric chain hoist SKC with integrated frequency inverter control for the hoisting motor. This new hoist is especially suitable for applications of handling facilities. The stepless hoisting and lowering spares all wearing parts of the hoist on the one hand and also makes precise and safe positioning of the load possible. Therefore the electric chain hoist SKC is especially usefull when hoisting fragile or shock susceptible products.
But the “softy“ in the SWF chain hoist family does have qualities of a robust, powerful industrial version. Optimal approach- and hook dimensions due to the compact built round up the hoists profile. Low travel noises as well as low maintenance and –wearing operation are further advantagesfor the user – especially when it comes to standstill- and breakdown times.

For trolley drive the hoist can be equipped with either sliding trolley or electric trolley. With the electric trolley again the frequency inverter control technology comes to use for steples and therefore gentle moving of the goods.
The standard package contains thermal protection for the hoisting motor as well as an upper and lower hoist limit switch. If requested a gear limit switch can be built in to protect both hoist and load. The hoisting speed can either be controlled in two steps or stepless.
With the single rope versions hoisting speeds up to 8 respectively 16 m/min are possible. The double rope versions reach up to 4 respectively 8 m/min. The standard ultimate loads stagger from 500 kg to 1.000 up to 2.000 kg. Any loads other than that under 2 tons are also possible.
The electric chain hoist SKC from Mannheim is designed according to IP55 protection and suitable for surrounding temperatures from –10°C up to + 50°C.
