Safeline Limited, one of the leading contractors in industrial metal searching technology based in British Salford near Manchester has optimised their internal production flow with the help of bridge cranes by Granada Material Handling Ltd. and SWF Krantechnik GmbH.
Safeline produces industrially used metal searching plants for food-, pharmaceutical-, and textile industry. The company that was founded in Great Britain in 1989 operates global with settlements in France, Germany, the Netherlands and the US. In order to optimise the material flow of parts within the production line Safeline ordered 15 overhead cranes from the British crane specialist Granada Material Handling. For hoists the choice was made for electric chain hoists SK by the Mannheim based hoisting specialist SWF Krantechnik because of their efficiency and toughness.

The ultimate loads of the single hoists are 750 kg to 1.000 kg. All hoists are fitted with electric trolleys for trolley and crane driving. Due to the usage of frequency inverter control a stepless travelling of the crane bridge and the attached loads is possible, which on the one hand ensures a save and precise handling of the parts and on the other hand minimises the wear of the electric chain hoists.
In addition to the installation Granada Material Handling will in future also undertake the maintenance and servicing of the cranes at Safeline in Salford.
