SWF Krantechnik in Mannheim now offers another variation to its large range of standard products, the Nova electric wire hoist range, which was formerly introduced two years ago, is now available as explosion proof.

Of course the many innovative features of the Nova wire rope hoist, for example the reduced weight of the unit and its compact design, the optimum hook approach and the reduced maintenance costs will be the same for the explosion proof version.

In order to guarantee spark proofing protection bronze trolley wheels and a bronze coated load hook will be available as an optional extra. As well as a selection of radio remote control systems for cable free control.

In addition to this, SWF is currently working on the introduction of the most modern frequency inverter technology for its new explosion proof range, in order to enhance the performance and handling of the load.  

The newly developed hoisting and travelling motors have been basically designed to suit the protection class EEx de IIC in Zone 1.  These components have also been approved to meet the requirements for dust protection Zone 21 and 22.  

All of the parts used in the construction of the SWF explosion proof wire rope hoists correspond to the current ATEX 100a European regulations (directives 94/9/EG).

Furthermore, the explosion proof wire rope hoist range – as with the standard range – will also be available with complete crane kits. Together with the hoist, the crane kits will include end carriages, travelling machineries, festoon system and power supply, as well as the complete electrical system in explosion proof design.
